I made this portrait of my father following his diagnosis with MS. Together with the landscape
and the details, the portrait forms part of an on-going series that explores my paternal heritage
and the men in my family. The series depicts the male body from youth, puberty, midlife and
old age and weaves these images into the larger fabric of my memory and experience.
