In this project I explore the aesthetic and symbolic dimensions of hair and raise questions around
identity, gender and power. Caring for hair is a generative process based on repetition, ritual, routine
and movement, and is a potent act of personal memory.
My video shows a teenage girl combing her hair. It celebrates this practice of combing and opens
it to question.
